David Dobler
Mr Dobler has been teaching in Alaska since 2001 and at ASD since 2003. He has taught Biology, Introductory Engineering, Mathematics and Welding to kids from 8th through 12th grade. While he was most recently in room 1 at West High teaching IB and Financial Mathematics, he has taught from 8th grade math through AP Calculus II and AP Statistics in both traditional face-to-face and online environments. Mr Dobler joined the Academy team as a Coach for West in the fall of 2024.
Mr Dobler has four children - two graduated from ASD and two still in the system - and you may find him in his spare time halibut fishing in Kachemak Bay or burning steel in his welding studio.
