Curriculum

  • Below are the major components of K-5 curriculum at Campbell STEM Elementary.  You may find additional curriculum information on the ASD Curriculum and Instruction page.

    Language Arts

    • Program Overview: Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) is a language arts program for grades PreK–5 that combines a multisensory approach to phonics with rich texts carefully sequenced to build content knowledge so that students learn to read and read to learn at the same time.
    • Knowledge and skills for K-2: Every day in grades PreK–2, students complete one full lesson that builds foundational reading skills, as well as one full lesson that builds background knowledge. The reading skills include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Knowledge units combine reading skills with in depth science and social studies content.
    • Based on the Science of Reading: The CKLA curriculum is based on the science of reading, a collection of research that supports the most effective methods of teaching literacy. To learn more about the science of reading, check out .
